If there is a surprise this fall, it’s the new Tumbler Autumn Brown Ale from Sierra Nevada Brewing Company in California.

Tumbler Brown Ale from Sierra Nevada
Nut brown, good bitterness and a pleasant aftertaste have made this beer the favorite with employee Isaiah and others.
From their site:
As the nights grow cool, the leaves on the valley oaks begin to turn and fall. In honor of this yearly dance, we bring you Tumbler Autumn Brown Ale and invite you to enjoy the show. We use malt within days of roasting at the peak of its flavor to give Tumbler a gracefully smooth malt character. So pour a glass, and grab a window seat to watch as the leaves come tumbling down.

Chunky lacing from a well formed head, tawny with a mild haze. Toasty sweet aroma with a kiss of oily hop and nutty yeast. Very smooth, moderate sized body. Toasted malt runs as far as unsweetened chocolate and chicory with some mild biscuity flavors as a base. Modest hopping for this brewery but more than enough bitterness to balance. Quick flash of brown sugar. Clean throughout, drying toasted finish.
A great switch up for SN, they just broadened their range … A solid brown for sure.
And from thegodfather2701:
Overall, this beer didn’t disappoint. I thought it would be much hoppier, but Sierra Nevada did their best to stay true to the style and created what I consider a gem. I definitely recommend this beer and hope to enjoy it again in the near future.
