If you’ve never tried a Grüner Veltliner from Austria, you should. It’s their national grape, and is not related to other grapes. That is, they have identified a Traminer in its past, but that’s it.
A white wine, mineral, peach and citrus flavors predominate. They are in my opinion, more fun to drink than Pinot Grigio. Because the Euro has been strong against the dollar and labor is expensive in Austria, they ship out fairly pricey, but for the money you are certainly not getting the cheap, young wine served in Vienna but the sturdier wine that can handle a trip around the globe. So buy it at a few dollars off and enjoy the wine and the savings! $11.99 while supplies last.
Sitio de Bodega Con Class Rueda is a tough sell. Not because the wine is bad, it’s good! But the label ain’t doing it and I haven’t promoted it much. A white, from the Spanish Rueda region, this is a good wine for a summer fling. $7.99 What’s in the bottle?
- 80% Verdejo (Verdelho)
- 10% Viura (Macabeo)
- 10% Sauvignon Blanc
Come in and try some of the others, too. They are all great, it just depends on your mood.
